The southern end of Putty Beach, more commonly known as Killcare Beach, is patrolled daily during the summer months. There are a further five unpatrolled beaches scattered throughout Bouddi National Park. The kids will want to spend hours at the beach. There is a rock pool at the southern end which is suitable for infants and young children and is very convenient to the kiosk for snacks and ice creams.
The northern end of the beach, 'Putty Beach', is nearly always calm and is great for snorkelling and rock and beach fishing. Good surf is erratic but the southern point is good for body boarding whilst board riders can take their pick of the best waves from the middle of the beach and back towards the southern end. Bouddi National Park is comprised of small secluded beaches fringed by rainforests, sandstone cliffs and coastal heaths blanketed in wildflower colour, making it one of the most diverse and delightful reserves within the greater Sydney area.

At the heart of the reserve is the Bouddi National Park Marine Extension located between Gerrin Point and Bombi Point. This unique 300ha reserve is one of the earliest Marine Protected Areas in Australia, protecting a diversity of marine habitats and species.

Sailing out from Hardys Bay on the Bavaria 38 you will make your way out past beautiful Lobster Beach and over the bar to Box Head, a famous surfing break. Enjoy the experience of blue water sailing on Broken Bay while keeping an eye out for the fairy penguins that nest on nearby Lion Island.

Boat Bike Paddle Hire have a fleet of BBQ Barge, four aluminium Quintrex 4.2 metre Dory boats, and four double polyethylene kayaks and now also with STAND UP PADDLE BOARDS. These boats are custom built to NSW Maritime survey which means that they won’t sink. The BBQ Barge is powered by a Suzuki 2 cylinder 15hp four stroke engine and dinghy boats are powered by Tohatsu 2 cylinder 6 HP 2 stroke outboard engines. These engines are well maintained to ensure that your experience is driving the boat rather than breaking down in the boat. The engines are very easy to start, are extremely quiet and are very reliable. Call 4360 2958 and they will have you out on the water in no time.
Within Hardys Bay, Pretty Beach and Wagstaff there are six public wharves from which fishing is ideal. Recreational fishing licences are available at the Killcare Cellars and the Wagstaff Store which also sell your basic fishing gear and bait. Flathead is common as are the blue swimmers crabs - you just need a bit of patience and maybe a little bit of luck!
