Killcare / Putty Beach isone of the most beautiful natural beaches in the world. This is one long beach with a car park at each end. The south end called Killcare Beach has a large natural rock pool perfect for kids, and a surf club has a beach kiosk with Spinakers Restaurant upstairs where you can enjoy the amazing view .
The north end (Putty Beach) is much flatter with little surf and a large rock shelf with lots of lovely rockpools. Families with little kids often prefer the north end. If driving, head back up the hill towards Killcare and take a right down Putty Beach Drive. Rather than curl up the hill into Anthony Crescent, drive straight into the Bouddi National Park camp ground and park at the very far end. Then you can simply walk straight onto the north end of Putty Beach. You need to buy a ticket from the machine to park if you don't have a National Parks sticker on your car.
Coastal walks begin at the Northend of Putty beach, these walks are fairly easy / medium level fitness and very beautiful, right along the coast with stunning views. Head up the wooden stairs you will see a the very north end of Putty Beach, you can walk for just 20 mins or so round trip to just see a little of the coast, or go all the way to MacMasters Beach. These walks are signposted at the far end of the Putty Beach carpark but you can also explore them online first here: http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/Bouddi-National-Park/Bouddi-Coastal-walk/walking.
Killcare retains a small fishing village atmosphere, but has a broad variety of shops including restaurants, cafes, general store, art gallery, hairdresser, homewares/fashion boutique and fine dining at Bells of Killcare. Killcare Marina is available to hire fishing boats, kayaks and bikes.
The Palm Beach ferry runs from nearby Wagstaff wharf to Ettalong then Palm Beach. It is a really beautiful trip, about half an hour on the ferry.
